We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and inspiring Musical Theatre Teacher to join our Doorstep Arts team. The successful candidate will be passionate about nurturing young
performers and confident in delivering engaging, high-quality training across singing, dance and acting for children and young people aged 7-20 years.

This role requires someone who can lead inclusive, creative sessions for groups with a wide range of abilities and experience levels.

Job Requirements

We are seeking a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Musical Theatre practitioner with strong experience teaching singing, dance and acting to children and young people aged 7-20. The successful candidate will have excellent behaviour management, communication and organisational skills, experience leading groups of mixed abilities, and confidence supporting SEND/neurodiverse learners.

A creative, adaptable approach and commitment to safeguarding are essential, alongside proficiency with Google Drive and Gmail and the ability to commit to full 11-week freelance terms.

Desirable experience includes directing productions or showcases, relevant performing arts qualifications, Early Years teaching, and current First Aid, Safeguarding and DBS certification (or willingness to obtain). We are looking for a collaborative team player passionate about developing young people's creativity, confidence and personal growth.

Job Responsibilities

Co-plan and co-deliver engaging Musical Theatre workshops across singing, dance and acting for young people aged 7-20. Adapt activities to suit a range of abilities and experience levels, creating an inclusive, supportive environment where participants feel confident to develop their creativity. Support young people with SEND and neurodiversity, ensuring sessions are accessible and engaging for all.

Encourage participant-led creative input and help prepare groups for end-of-term performances each 11-week term. Share responsibility for session management, including registers, first aid, safeguarding, parent communication and responding to enquiries.

Attend team meetings, contribute to programme development and work collaboratively to maintain high-quality participant experiences. Oversee building opening and closing procedures, follow safeguarding and security protocols, and provide guidance and mentorship to session assistants.
