Heritage is for everyone - and we're here for heritage.

As a charity, English Heritage cares for over 400 historic sites and over a million objects across England. We bring history to life and ensure everyone can enjoy the stories, beauty and inspiration they offer.

About Bolsover Castle

Perched high above the Vale of Scarsdale, Bolsover Castle is the creation of a horse-mad Cavalier Playboy. Nearly 100,000 visitors each year explore its lavish Stuart interiors, magnificent Riding House and recreated gardens. The site also hosts a lively events programme, from our Legendary Joust to community celebrations.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced and inspirational manager to lead the Bolsover Castle team and oversee operations at Peveril Castle and Gainsborough Old Hall. You'll ensure outstanding visitor experiences, commercial success and smooth day-to-day running across all three sites.

This is a full-time (36 hours) permanent role. As a major visitor attraction, weekend and public holiday work will be required. Internally, this post is known as Bolsover Cluster Manager.

About You

You'll bring experience of managing busy visitor operations, motivating teams of staff and volunteers, and achieving commercial targets while maintaining exceptional service standards. Confident communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.
