Anjali Dance Company is looking for a male-identifying performer and an understudy to join the cast of our new outdoor production, 49 Trees, for development and touring from 2027. We are looking for a confident and expressive mover with strong partnering skills, who enjoys collaborative working and connecting with both performers and audiences. The role requires stamina and adaptability for outdoor touring and a genuine commitment to working inclusively alongside an artist with learning disabilities as an equal creative and performing partner. A rehearsal day is typically 7-8 hours (with breaks) and performance days vary depending on the booking. All pay rates are inline or above ITC rates. You will need: An Enhanced DBS for Adult and Child Workforce. To be registered as self-employed as this role is freelance To hold appropriate Public Liability Insurance in place for the - Take part in development residencies, rehearsals and performances of 49 Trees. - Learn, develop and retain the choreography and performance material. - Work collaboratively with the choreographer, creative team and fellow performer. - Partner and perform alongside a learning-disabled artist as an equal creative collaborator. - Perform confidently and safely around the outdoor set in changing weather and site conditions. - Maintain the physical stamina and preparation required for outdoor touring. - Contribute to audience engagement activities, including post-show interactions and workshops where agreed. - Attend scheduled calls, technical rehearsals and performances punctually and professionally. - Follow the company's safeguarding, access, health and safety, and inclusive-working practices. - Travel to rehearsals and touring locations across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
