Christmas Carol Goes Wrong UK Tour & West End Contract Type: Full-time, fixed term UKT/BECTU & SOLT/BECTU Contract Location: Various UK Touring venues & Wyndham’s Theatre (West End) Salary: £950.00 per week plus Touring Allowance and Travel. Job Description

Dates: 14 September 2026 - 07 March 2027
Rehearsals (London): 14 September - 18 October 2026
Tech (Bromley): 19 - 25 October 2026
Performances: 26 October 2026 - 07 March 2027

Duties and Responsibilities:
Relighting the show at each new venue on the UK Tour;
Operating the lighting desk during performances;
To supervise and train additional members of the LX department/the Tech Swing and in house follow spot operators at each venue;
To supervise the maintenance and preparation of the rig;
To assist with the get out at each venue;
To maintain the Production as instructed and dictated by the creative team;
Working alongside your team, other technical departments, stage management, the acting company and creative team members to ensure the efficient flow of information as necessary for the smooth running of the show;
Attending all rehearsals, show calls, maintenance calls, get-ins, fit-ups and get-outs as required by the Company Stage Manager, Production Manager or the LX Designer, including emergency calls in the event of equipment failure or other incident, particularly if there is a risk of the cancellation of a performance;
Compiling and keeping updated show paperwork, both soft and hard copy;
Working in accordance with the Producer's Health and Safety policy, which may include any training deemed necessary;
Complying at all times with the rules and regulations in force at the venues under the control of the Production;
Having a practical understanding of the Producer's employment policies and demonstrating a willingness to comply with these policies;
Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the Lighting Designer, Company Manager, Production Manager, General Managers or Producers from time to time.

Job Requirements

We are looking for applicants with previous LX 1 experience or experience working in a LX capacity on a new production. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and previous experience of line managing multiple people would be desirable, alongside exceptional organisational and scheduling skills. The LX 1 is a management role on the Tour and candidates should be comfortable in this position.

Job Responsibilities

Person Specification:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail;
A proactive and flexible attitude;
Previous experience of UK Touring;
Previous experience of working as part of a team;
The ability to work well with actors and creative team;
The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise;
Awareness of current health & safety legislation;
Strong working knowledge of UK Theatre & SOLT Equity and BECTU agreements.
