Job Summary

We are excited to be recruiting a Leader of Learning (PEP and Community) to join our leadership team. This is a full-time, fixed-term role, in part to cover Maternity Leave. The post-holder will lead our unique alternative education programme for learning disabled young adults, Peer Empowerment Path

Job Description

Salary: £34,000 Full time

Hours: Monday - Friday - 9am - 5pm

Term: Fixed term from December 2025 until August 2026.

Deadline: 26th October 2025

Interviews: w/c 3rd November 2025

Based: Woking. Expectation to be on site 4 days with potential for home working one day per week.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • A degree in Drama, Theatre, Performing Arts or other relevant arts qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge of Safeguarding procedures and policy and pastoral care.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team.
  • Experience of delivering creative work with young people with SEND.
  • A knowledge of the administrative processes required to support Local Authority funded learners with EHCPs.
  • The ability to be creative and resourceful in problem solving.
  • Experience building partnerships.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with learners, families and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to building connections with a range of different people.
  • Effective planning, multi-tasking, organisation and time management skills.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
  • The ability to be a positive ambassador for the charity.
  • An open and honest communication style.

Job Responsibilities

Peer Empowerment Pathway (PEP)

  • Lead the delivery of our alternative education programme for 18-25 year olds with EHCPs.
  • Facilitate learning sessions as part of the PEP programme.
  • Work with Learning Facilitators and RSL exam board to ensure the effective delivery of Level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications.
  • Manage, mentor, and support Learning Facilitators and Assistants.
  • Liaise with local authorities and maintain learner records, including ILPs and annual reviews.
  • Oversee programme budgets and resources.
  • Market the programme and oversee learner recruitment.

Community Outreach

  • Lead delivery of Generation Girls and Guys, our flagship PSHE programme for learning disabled and neurodivergent teenagers.
  • Oversee SEND-focused holiday programmes.
  • Facilitate outreach sessions.
  • Recruit, train, and manage freelance facilitators.
  • Manage budgets for community programmes.
  • Support fundraising, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director to design and implement initiatives
