The National Opera Studio is seeking a skilled AV technician to join our team. One of the leading opera training institutions in the UK, the National Opera Studio provides intensive and bespoke professional training for free at the highest level for a small number of singers and repetiteurs each year, and prepares them for life on an international operatic stage. We are seeking an experienced AV Technician to support the Studio in the smooth running of all technical aspects of the annual training programme, in-house productions and hires. They are responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the audio and video equipment at the Studio used in live events, internal and external recording sessions, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other situations, ensuring smooth delivery by managing sound, video, and lighting systems as needed. They will also show a willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by Studio events and external bookings. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical and production, is hard working, organised, a good collaborator and has a commitment to delivering high quality work. Contract type: 1.5 days a week, part-time Lead AV technician for the National Opera Studio Support of all audiovisual services throughout the Studio, including hands-on maintenance, arrangement of repairs and liaison with third-party support suppliers. Working with Studio staff in the scheduling and implementation of all AV requests. Recording, editing and supplying media files to NOS staff, Young Artists or external clients as required. Managing and leading the live streaming of Studio events. Responding to calls for assistance relating to any filming and audio taking place at the Studio. The development and management of freelance AV technicians to support should you need a replacement or extra support. Maintaining the safety, security, and good working order of equipment and materials. Advising on AV equipment around the Studio. Demonstration of AV equipment to staff and Young Artists when required.
