Rosetta Arts is seeking two passionate, experienced visual arts facilitators to join our freelance team for THRIVE. Through THRIVE, we will work with schools and cultural partners to deliver new arts-led Science and History curricula, and a creative careers programme for year 5 pupils in Newham. THRIVE will be delivered by Rosetta Arts, in partnership with Eko Trust, Contemporary Visual Arts Network London (CVAN London), and Newham Council's Heritage Service.

We are looking for two artists to co-create curricula and lead on facilitating the programme in schools, alongside two trainee artist facilitators. One lead artist will focus on co-creation and delivery of the History curriculum and the other will do the same for Science. Both artists will work on developing and delivering the creative careers programme.

We are looking for artists with an established visual arts practice, confident working with diverse groups of children including those with SEND and EAL, and who are committed to co-creation, empathy, and inclusive practice.

You will take part in co-creation sessions with THRIVE partners to develop the curriculum in Spring Term 2026. In the Summer Term 2026, you will lead inclusive, visual arts sessions across two schools in Newham, and arts-based teacher CPD workshops.

You will receive training in Youth Mental Health First Aid and Safeguarding.

Salary: £245 p/d

Duration of role and hours: Freelance,28 days, 7 hours per day, between February 2026 - August 2026
Length of contract: 7months
Start date: February 2026

Job Requirements

  • At least 3-years experience designing and delivering inspiring curriculum-linked creative workshops for a diverse range of learners in school settings, including pupils with SEND and EAL
  • An established visual arts practice
  • Passion for using art as a tool to connect with individuals, foster creativity, build confidence, and promote a sense of community and belonging
  • An environmentally-conscious practice
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding in school-based settings
  • Confident communicator and empathetic team player
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
  • East London based, Newham-based is desirable
  • A commitment to Rosetta Art Centre's Equal Opportunities policy, practical awareness of how to implement it, and understanding of the needs of a multicultural, inner city community

Job Responsibilities

  • Be an active part of the co-creation process, working with THRIVE partners to design new inclusive arts-based Science curriculum/History curriculum and creative careers programme
  • Work with Rosetta Arts and teachers to write lesson plans and resources
  • Deliver engaging, accessible visual arts sessions in schools and at local cultural organisations tailored to the needs of Year 5 pupils with SEND and EAL
  • Work collaboratively with Rosetta Arts staff, school and heritage partners to ensure an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment
  • Feature in filmed lesson resources for use in Eko Trust schools and wider Rosetta Arts youth programming
  • Support with the sharing of the children's work at school/in the community
  • Support evaluation by collecting feedback, contributing to reflective practice, and participating in team learning
