Job Description

About the Role
We're looking for a Junior Graphic Artworker to join our friendly Exhibitions and Design team. This part-time role has been created to support the growing demand for accessible and well-designed 2D artwork across the Museum. You'll work closely with our Graphic Designer, primarily using existing templates, to produce engaging and accessible visuals for exhibitions, signage, marketing materials and internal communications. This is a hands-on role that includes producing and installing artwork in various spaces across the Museum and Gardens.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare artwork for print and digital use, mainly using existing templates
Produce and install printed materials using in-house equipment (plotter, laminator, etc.)
Liaise with internal teams to meet their day-to-day graphic needs
Ensure all outputs follow the Horniman's access, design and brand standards
Carry out regular checks to maintain the quality and condition of graphics across the site
Support the Graphic Designer and other exhibitions tasks as needed

About You
You'll bring a strong eye for design and a can-do attitude, with the ability to manage your workload and contribute to a busy and creative team. You'll enjoy working both collaboratively and independently, and be happy to get hands-on with artwork installation around our beautiful site.

Key Qualities, Skills, and Experience
You will have a recognised degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design
You'll have strong 2D artworking skills, including digital design, and a portfolio to show your work
Confident using both Mac and PC
Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
Willing to learn how to use large format print equipment and laminators
Organised, flexible, and able to prioritise your tasks effectively

The closing date for completed applications is 10am on Monday 13 May 2025. Interviews will take place on Tuesday 3 June 2025.
