We're looking for an active musician and educator to oversee our school band clubs, lead our coaches and stage manage events

Job Description

The Music Manager is a key role responsible for the quality of our music clubs and professional performances. You will lead the team that delivers our lessons and ensure every session helps students thrive through music.

This freelance role has flexible hours and is approximately a day a week in and around term time. Fee negotiable starting at £20ph.

What we are looking for

You are an active musician and educator with a strong background in live performance and a passion for developing young talent. You are a supportive leader who can mentor a team of coaches and manage the high standards required for professional gigs and young musician development.

Job Requirements

- Experience in individual and group music teaching
- Knowledge of equipment for stage and recording including common DAWs
- Experience leading and designing creative workshops
- Experience managing and working with teams

Job Responsibilities

- Lesson Delivery: Lead the delivery of our music, careers, and personal development lessons to ensure they remain high-quality and student-focused
- Team Support: Recruit, train, and support our team of band coaches to ensure they are using the best methods for engaging students
- Venue Relationships: Work with professional venues like the Jazz Cafe, Barfly and Camden Club to manage the equipment and sound requirements for our bands
- Quality Control: Work with the MD to maintain the musical and technical quality of all our public performances
- Student Feedback: Regularly listen to our students to make sure they have a clear say in how the charity develops
