Description
Headstone Manor & Museum proposes to appoint consultants with appropriate experience of heritage visitor attractions to prepare a new 5-year business plan to meet the aspirations of the museum with a clear focus on financial viability within the changed economic climate.
We are seeking suitably experienced consultants to work with the museum team to conduct a financial and organisational appraisal of all aspects of Headstone Manor & Museums' current and proposed operations to produce robust income and expenditure forecasts and delivery plans.
The commission will be as follows:
October 2025 - January 2026
Contract Value - up to £20,000 + VAT
TASKS
- Audit existing provision and success in collaboration with the museum team
- Review existing strategic, organisational, market and business information available from the Museum
- Market analysis, benchmarking, local / regional context analysis
- Work with the museum team to identity development / project proposals and risks
- Income, expenditure, and cash-flow forecasting
- Present draft business plan
- Attend client meetings
OUTPUTS
- Audit, research and recommendations
- Business Plan for 5 yrs of operation, to include:
- Structure and operation analysis
- Strategic context
- Market appraisal
- Financial appraisal
- Governance, management and staffing for future operation
- Risk assessment for future operation
- Monitoring and evaluation programme
- Working delivery plan
Consultants are invited to submit a proposal on a fee basis to include all expenses and printing for completing the work as outlined in this brief inclusive of VAT. The proposal should also clearly state the cost of completing each part of the work.
Proposals should include details of the proposed project team, their CVs and their specific input into the project. Examples of relevant work may be included.
The proposal should demonstrate the consultant's appreciation and understanding of the commission and give an outline of how they intend to approach the work in terms of methodology and timetable.
The museum is especially looking to appoint consultants who can demonstrate a strong track record of:
- Successfully delivering plans for a range of heritage projects, including historic houses, landscapes and museums, to a high level and with a degree of innovation.
- Working inclusively and innovatively with proven successful heritage business planning.
Proposals should contain:
- Lead organisation/ consultant track record and quality assurance methods.
- Details of relevant experience of similar projects.
- Initial response to the brief to include an outline of working methods and processes.
- Ability to meet the proposed timetable and any milestones.
- Details of methodology and approach.
- Details of fixed fee inclusive of all expenses and VAT. The fee proposal is to be presented in a clear manner, identifying the overall fee and supported by a stage-by-stage breakdown, presented in sufficient detail and a style that enables a clear understanding of the fee, services, programme and deliverables for each stage, with any specific exclusions stated.
