Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and self-sufficient Head of Wardrobe to oversee all costume and wig elements on The Talented Mr Ripley UK tour. As a one-person department, you will be responsible for the care, maintenance, and daily running of all costumes, ensuring consistency .

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head of Wardrobe or Wardrobe Assistant on touring theatre productions.
  • Practical skills in costume maintenance, repairs, and basic alterations.
  • Experience working with wigs, hair styling, and makeup is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a wider touring team.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a calm, professional manner with cast and crew
  • Self-reliant, proactive individual

Job Responsibilities

Wardrobe Management

  • Oversee all costume elements for the production, including maintenance, repairs, and show dressing.
  • Manage the costume plots, including quick changes and preset requirements.
  • Assist with costume fittings and alterations during rehearsals and previews.
  • Maintain costume continuity and standards throughout the tour, including regular laundering, steaming, ironing and steaming.
  • Maintain and update costume paperwork and dressing notes.

Touring & Technical Duties

  • Lead the wardrobe get-ins and get-outs at each venue, including unpacking, setting up wardrobe spaces, and repacking.
  • Liaise closely with stage management and creative teams to ensure the presentation of the show meets the original design.
  • Keep accurate records of costume maintenance, consumables used, and any incidents or issues.
