Head of Operations, Discover Children's Story Centre

Discover transforms lives through stories, supporting over 100,000 children and families a year with creativity, confidence and connection in our purpose-built story worlds and in libraries, schools and festivals across London and beyond. Last year we celebrated our 21st birthday with the beginning of a major capital project to transform our site ready to inspire the next 1 million visitors, with exciting plans to grow our accessibility, improve our sustainability and expand our hospitality, play and early years offers with work due to complete in 2026.

We're keen to hear from experienced operational leads who share our commitment to a truly welcoming, high quality and inclusive visitor experience with the practical knowledge and experience required to support a busy seven day a week team, manage costs effectively and ensure our venue and operations remain safe.

The Head of Operations is part of the senior management team at Discover with responsibility for the overall wellbeing of the organisation, reporting directly to the CEO and with a team of over 20 including contract and casual staff across facilities and front of house roles.

Full time, based at our centre on Stratford High Street, Newham, 1 day per week working from home and benefits including 25 days holiday per year, paid carers leave, book and caf discounts and unlimited storytelling.
