Directors UK is the professional association of UK screen directors. It is a membership organisation representing the creative, economic and contractual interests of over 8,500 members - the majority of working TV and film directors in the UK. Directors UK negotiates rights deals and collects and distributes royalties to its members. It also campaigns and lobbies on its members' behalf and provides a range of services including legal advice, events and career development. Directors UK works closely with fellow organisations around the world to represent directors' rights and concerns, promotes excellence in the craft of direction and champions change to the current landscape to create an equal opportunity industry for all. We are recruiting for a Head of Digital Content (FTC 6-8 Months) to join the team. They will manage, plan and shape content for Directors UK's digital channels which increases member engagement and raises stakeholder awareness of Directors UK's services and activities; develop and deliver strategies that grow our share of voice and external profile, bringing Directors UK to new audiences across social media and other digital spaces; and drive the creation of engaging content that promotes Directors UK's advocacy work, other external digital communications, and promotes the role of the director. Reporting to: Director of Communications and Public Affairs. Direct reports: Communications Officer (Digital) Hours: 9.30am - 5.30pm (with occasional evening and weekend work) Work Days: 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. Location: This role may be split between working at our Directors UK office at 4th Floor, 22 Stukeley Street, London WC2B 5LR and working remotely. Contract: 6-8 Month fixed term contract. Holidays: 25 days per year plus all public and bank holidays (pro rata) Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience of leading digital communications strategies. Desirable Skills and Experience An interest in and knowledge of the film and television industry/creative sector. Key responsibilities Promote and support all major organisational activities with appropriate digital communications and ensure we have an informative, vibrant website and social media presence serving members, stakeholders and the public. Develop and deliver a digital content strategy to maintain effective and frequent communications with members that reflect and project our aims and values, increase engagement, and build a strong community of members. Plan and execute large digital projects and transformations within our digital platforms, working with relevant stakeholders within the company and externally, ensuring communication with members and the public is clear. Develop and deliver content plans for the website and newsletter. Create and commission engaging, relevant content responding to everyday events and promoting Directors UK initiatives; editing interviews, news and articles; event podcasts; and other audio-visual content.
