Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a fundraiser to help secure the future of a centuries-old choral tradition and open it to a new generation. Apply today to join the Choral Foundation as the Head of Development.

Job Description

About the Choral Foundation

We are the Choral Foundation. Since 2011, we have existed to preserve and share the extraordinary heritage of English choral music sung at the Chapel Royal in Hampton Court Palace, while opening it up to everyone.

Through the generosity of individual donors, charitable trusts, legacies and events, we fund bursaries for choristers' music tuition, commission new works by living composers and run Songstars, our outreach programme that reaches school children across Hounslow.

Our choir, led by Director of Music Alexander Hamilton, draws boy choristers from a broad range of local schools, giving children from every background a first-class musical education alongside six professional adult singers. Their voices have featured in recordings, television documentaries and performances at high-profile events.

Now, we are ready to grow. At the heart of our ambition is a new girl chorister programme that will offer girls in our community the same life-shaping experience long open only to boys.

We believe great music should belong to everyone and we are building the future of this tradition with care, ambition and openness to all.

Job Requirements

About the role

As Head of Development, you will grow fundraising income for the Choral Foundation and turn our ambitions into reality, beginning with the launch of girl choristers at the Chapel Royal.

You will work across the full range of fundraising specialisms, partnering closely with our Chair, the Director of Music and colleagues at Historic Royal Palaces and the Royal Household. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes to get things done and see the results.

Job Responsibilities

Who we are looking for

You will be an experienced, self-starting fundraiser who builds genuine relationships and thrives on turning a compelling cause into committed support.

We are looking for someone comfortable working across many levels, from a first meeting with a major donor to a Sunday service among our congregation - and you want to help shape something lasting.
