We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Facilitator to plan and deliver our term-time Youth Theatre Programme at Harrow Arts Centre (HAC), consisting of two groups aged 7-11 and 11-16.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Facilitator to plan and deliver our termtime Youth Theatre Programme at Harrow Arts Centre (HAC). This group is a key part of our Participation Programme and 'youth progression pathway' - catering to young people aged 7-16, providing them with a strong foundation in drama skills and preparing them for potential progression into our HAC Young Company Programme (ages 16-19).

With the support of an Assistant Facilitator, the successful candidate will lead engaging, inclusive and creative weekly sessions, guiding participants through topics such as devising, characterisation and scripted performance. The Lead Facilitator will also take the lead in delivering an annual Summer showcase.

COMMITMENT

The Lead Facilitator will work alongside an Assistant Facilitator to deliver approx. 13 weekly sessions per term. Sessions run on Tuesdays at the Harrow Arts Centre, excluding half terms, Christmas and Summer holidays.

The Lead Facilitator will be expected to plan these sessions and arrive 15 minutes before class begins to Safeguard the space. Any showcases will be held at Harrow Arts Centre, ideally during usual session time, the logistical planning of which will be led by the Participation Programmer.

Timings are below:

7-11s: 4:30pm - 6pm

11-16s: 6:15pm - 7:45pm

RENUMERATION

£1137.50 per term

This position will be contracted termly, initially for Tuesdays 2nd September - 4th December 2025, and reviewed thereafter.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience facilitating drama/theatre workshops with children and young people
  • Experience devising theatre and delivering performances
  • Strong commitment to inclusion, diversity and Safeguarding
  • Knowledge of play licensing and performance permissions
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to engage young people of varied abilities, needs, ages and backgrounds
  • Safeguard & First Aid Trained (or a willingness to undertake)
