The Saatchi Gallery seeks an individual with strong customer service skills to assist the retail team in the gallery store.

Job Description

We are looking for someone with strong customer service skills to assist the retail team on the shopfloor. The key objectives are serving customers at the till, answering enquiries, re-stocking the shop and supporting the retail team to optimise sales. There may be a requirement to work several weekends each month and possibly a few evening shifts.

The position is part-time working 24 hours per week (3 days per week), and is offered on a 6-months temporary basis (May to November 2026) with the possibility of being extended.

Salary: £16,037 per annum (£26,728 FTE per annum pro rata)
Starting date: week starting 25th May 2026

Job Requirements

Good spoken and written English. Reliable, responsible and trustworthy.
Punctual and excellent time management skills.
Professional and smart appearance.
Evidence of provision of an excellent standard of visitor service and care.
Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team.
Active listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good IT skills, in particular MS Word, MS Outlook, and Excel, word processing and spreadsheet skills.
Proactive, positive, and flexible approach to work.

Job Responsibilities

Serve customers to an exemplary standard.
Deliver the agreed standard of merchandising and stock replenishment across all product categories in the store.
Answer customer enquiries by phone or email to agreed standards.
Support the online store business and serve online customers.
Contribute fully to all projects as directed by the retail team management. Your direct line managers will be the Retail Operations Manager and the Duty Manager or, in their absence, the Senior Retail Assistant. The Head of Retail oversees the entire team and sets the objectives for all staff.
