Journey of the Magi is the company's most successful and longest running show, touring each year to churches and schools in rural communities across the UK. Our Freelance Technician / Technical SM role would suit a competent, practical person over 21 who holds a clean (or nearly clean) driving license, who can drive the company van and has experience or interest in sound and lighting. This technical role is tour-based, paid on an ad hoc basis. This role requires a willingness to adapt and to help in any way to ensure the smooth running of the tour. KEY DATES 2025: Technical training day: Wednesday 19th November, venue tbc Dress rehearsal: Thursday 20th November, venue tbc UK Touring period: Friday 21st November - Monday 22nd December 2025 Dates are still being confirmed, we usually have 10-18 shows annually The successful applicant will be a competent person that has (or is willing to acquire) a basic understanding of sound and lighting. Essential: Experience of, or capacity to learn, sound and lighting operations for touring shows. A proficient driver who is aged 21+ with a clean (or nearly clean) driving license. Willingness to learn to adapt to any unfamiliar equipment and software. Willingness to help in any way possible to ensure the smooth running of the tour. Good interpersonal skills with capacity to work cooperatively with dancers and venue hosts whilst on tour. Willingness to work in churches and uphold the Christian ethos of the company. Desirable: Experience as a theatrical technician. Experience of driving a crew vehicle such as a minibus or van.
