Job Summary

We’re seeking freelance speakers, creatives, and arts professionals to deliver talks or informal lectures for general members of the public, especially adult learners and arts-interested audiences.

Job Description

Whether you're an academic, arts or media practitioner, or creative industry insider, we're keen to hear from people who can share insight, spark curiosity, and open up conversation about the arts and creative industries.

We welcome proposals across a wide range of topics, such as:

  • Histories of art, design, or craft movements
  • Behind-the-scenes of creative practices (e.g. photography, costume design, publishing, etc)
  • The creative business: working in theatre, film, fashion, museums or festivals
  • Personal journeys through the arts - artist talks, project stories, or curatorial reflections
  • Big ideas - arts ethics, innovation, and inclusion in the creative industries today

Sessions could be one-off events, short themed series, or linked to exhibitions or festivals.

Location: Landmark Arts Centre, Teddington, TW11 9NN
Contract: Freelance, hourly, part-time
Fee: £60-£150 per hour, depending on experience, expertise and audience
Lecturing time: 1- or 2-hour lectures, with 1 lecture per season

Job Requirements

  • Strong subject knowledge in an arts or creative industry field
  • Confident public speaking or teaching experience with general public, non-specialist adult audiences
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Enthusiasm for sharing ideas in an accessible and engaging way
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) if working with young people in related sessions

Job Responsibilities

  • Propose, prepare and deliver engaging talks or presentations suitable for adult learners
  • Use visual aids, case studies or storytelling to enhance audience understanding and enjoyment
  • Create space for audience Q&A or discussion, where appropriate
  • Work with the Creative Learning Team to evaluate and refine delivery
