Job Summary

We’re looking for a bold, imaginative communicator to help us make noise about our Spoken Word Theatre Project and manage a new dedicated social media page.

Job Description

Working closely with the project manager, you will produce engaging, high-quality content that builds audience connection, celebrates artistic voices, and amplifies the project's cultural impact. We want to create a social media presence that archives and shares our project progress so you will manage both ad hoc content and planned campaigns that define and elevate Spoken Word Theatre.

This is a freelance, project-based role with flexible hours and remote working except when capturing content which will take place at Theatre Peckham and various London venues as needed. You'll be part of a small, passionate team bringing urgent, powerful stories to life - and making sure the world sees them.

This is a Project-based position for 12 hours per month paid at the London Living wage of ÂŁ13.85ph.

Job Requirements

  • A flair for creative storytelling across social platforms.

  • Knowledge of growing an engaged arts or cultural audiences online.

  • An instinct for when to post, what to say, and how to make people care.

  • Flexibility, speed, and a love of collaboration.

  • A genuine passion for spoken word, performance, and amplifying underrepresented voices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Dream up and deliver scroll-stopping social content, from quick-fire posts to beautifully crafted campaigns.

  • Capture the magic in words, images, and video, showing Spoken Word Theatre at its most powerful.

  • Grow and engage an online community that's as vibrant and diverse as the work on stage.

  • Jump on live opportunities as they happen, while also planning and scheduling strategic content drops.

  • Work with the project manager to make sure every post speaks to the values and vision of the project.
