Product Development Manager - Group Market

Freelance, Nov 2025 - Mar 2026, part time 22 hrs

Fee £10,000 - £13,000 (depending on day rate)

Purpose of support

Are you a commercially minded product marketing expert with proven experience in the group travel market?

Leeds Museums & Galleries is looking to work with someone with specialist knowledge and understanding of the group and travel trade markets. You will work with Leeds's varied venues across the city to evaluate where the most market potential is, as well as develop packages in collaboration with site and event colleagues with clear pricing strategies to take to market.

As part of the role you will work closely with the Audience Development team to write a marketing plan across earned, owned and paid channels that can demonstrate clear ROI. In addition, you will work with an agreed budget to produce suitable marketing collateral in collaboration with the team.

Conditions & Contract Period

This will be a fixed term, freelance contract beginning in November 2025 and terminating end of March 2026.

This role will require traveling to locations around Leeds to visit Leeds Museums & Galleries venues. This is a hybrid role but there is an expectation of regular contact due to the short timeframe of the project, expectation of 2 days in the office/on-site per week with further working from home (estimated 3 days a week).

The individual must supply a day rate with their application and estimate number of days they can undertake in the time frame.

The position is self-employed, and the person appointed will acknowledge that no employment rights will derive from the contract.

  • To develop market ready products and sellable experiences for groups across Leeds Museums and Galleries venues
  • To fully cost and price products/packages to ensure return on investment
  • To recommend a three-year pricing plan to accompany developments
  • To create a year marketing plan considering key moments of activity and budgets
  • To work within the brand/s of Leeds Museums & Galleries to produce marketing literature
  • Manage suppliers in-line with Leeds City Council procurement frameworks
  • To undertake any other duties as required, commensurate with the grade of the post
