Description

Job Summary

Knock & Nash Productions - an independent company with Cumbrian roots, creating bold, artist-led theatre and film that champions queer and neurodiverse voices - is seeking an experienced Producer to lead the 2026 UK tour of PILLOCK, our award-winning and highly acclaimed production.

Job Description

The Producer will oversee the planning, financing, and delivery of the PILLOCK 2026 tour. Working closely with the Artistic Director and creative team, you will manage budgets, coordinate venues and partners, and ensure the production is delivered to the highest standard.

You will also take a lead role in drafting and submitting the Arts Council England Project Grant, and will be central to the project's long-term development strategy.

£2,000 for approximately 8-10 days' work between November 2025 and February 2026 (flexible schedule). This covers the development and submission of an Arts Council England Project Grant for the PILLOCK 2026 tour. If the application is successful, there would be the opportunity to extend the role into the delivery phase, with an additional fee to be agreed.

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a producer in theatre or live performance.

  • Strong understanding of Arts Council England funding processes.

  • Experience in touring logistics, contracting, and budgeting.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills.

  • Commitment to inclusive practice and enthusiasm for supporting queer and neurodiverse voices.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with small independent or artist-led companies.

  • Knowledge of national touring networks and venues.

  • Based in or with strong links to the North of England (particularly Cumbria).

  • Familiarity with hybrid or remote collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead on the preparation and submission of the Arts Council England Project Grant.

  • Oversee tour planning, budgeting, contracting, and scheduling.

  • Liaise with venues, partners, and creative collaborators.

  • Support marketing and audience development activity in partnership with the team.

  • Manage financial tracking and reporting throughout the project.

  • Attend key rehearsals, meetings, and performances as required.

  • Contribute to company development and legacy planning beyond the 2026 tour.
