Knock & Nash Productions is seeking an experienced acting practitioner to deliver regular teaching across our established online screen acting programme. The successful practitioner will be contracted to teach a minimum of 2 hours per week, with up to 4 hours available depending on the weekly timetable. Classes are delivered online via Zoom, usually in two-hour evening sessions. Working with established groups of actors, you will deliver Knock & Nash schemes of work while bringing your own professional experience and expertise to the room. Our training is practical, rigorous and focused on contemporary screen performance. Sessions explore scene work, self-taping, audition technique, text analysis and truthful performance for camera. Responsibilities include delivering classes, coaching actors through practical exercises and scene work, providing clear and individualised feedback, managing class timings and creating a professional, inclusive and supportive learning environment. Lesson plans and schemes of work are provided, although we are looking for a practitioner who can respond confidently to the actors in the room and bring their own professional and teaching experience to the work. There may also be opportunities for additional freelance teaching across our in-person programmes in Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh. These opportunities are additional to the contracted online hours and are not guaranteed. Applicants must be professionally trained at a recognised drama school and currently work, or have substantial professional experience, within the acting industry. Experience teaching acting within higher education at BA and MA level is required, alongside a strong understanding of contemporary screen acting practice and the professional industry. Applicants must be confident delivering practical actor training online and independently operating Zoom, including breakout rooms, screen sharing and playback. You should be comfortable delivering established lesson plans while bringing your own professional expertise to the work. Regular evening availability is required. Deliver 2 - 4 hours of online screen acting teaching per week, with a minimum of 2 hours contracted. Deliver provided Knock & Nash lesson plans and practical exercises. Coach actors across scene work, self-taping, audition technique and contemporary screen performance. Provide clear, constructive and individualised feedback. Manage class timings, Zoom and the online teaching environment independently. Create a professional, inclusive and supportive training environment. Communicate relevant student, safeguarding or session matters promptly to the Knock & Nash team. Represent Knock & Nash professionally and uphold our teaching values, policies and expectations. Remuneration: £20 - £30 per hour, depending on experience.
