Creative Allsorts is looking for a Freelance Musical Theatre Facilitator to lead their "Rising Allsorts" class for 7-9 year olds. This role is perfect for someone with a genuine passion for musical theatre and a capability for inspiring young performers.
Class Schedule & Commitment
This is a freelance, termly position, but Creative Allsorts is looking for a consistent and committed facilitator for regular work throughout 2025-26 and beyond.
Winter Term 2025:
- Classes: Sundays from September 14th to November 23rd, 2025 (with a break on October 26th)
- Time: 10AM - 12PM
- Location: New College Durham
- Full Company Rehearsal: Sunday 30th November (10AM - 1PM)
- Festive Performance: Sunday 7th December (additional hours may be required on this day, paid hourly)
A total of 2 hours per week is expected, plus the additional dates and hours listed.
Fee starting from £20ph depending on experience.
Key Role Requirements
- You must be aged 18 years or older.
- You'll need a strong understanding and skill across all three musical theatre disciplines: acting, singing, and dancing.
- Professional performance or teaching experience is essential.
- Experience in developing performances or showcases for young people is desirable.
- You must be able to create engaging, structured, and progressive lesson plans that cater to various abilities.
- You'll need excellent communication skills to inspire, motivate, and effectively manage a group of young children.
- You must hold a valid, enhanced DBS check (or be willing to undergo one).
- You'll be required to provide references.
- You'll need to stay up to date with current safeguarding policies and procedures.
- A full, clean UK driving licence or the ability to consistently get to sessions on time is required.
- You must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the values of Creative Allsorts
Role Responsibilities
As the Musical Theatre Facilitator, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging musical theatre classes specifically designed for 7-9 year olds.
- Teach acting techniques, vocal skills, and choreography.
- Follow the pre-set themes and content for the sessions as requested by Creative Allsorts.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Nurture creativity, confidence, and an ensemble attitude within the class.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
- Lead rehearsals and support the final performance event.
- Work alongside Assistant Facilitators to ensure smooth session delivery.
