We are a dynamic cultural consultancy seeking an experienced Evaluation Consultant to support the delivery of evaluation frameworks, reporting, and impact assessments for Arts Council England (ACE) and National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF/HLF) projects. This is a freelance role offering flexible, remote working.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of delivering evaluations for ACE and/or HLF-funded projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies.
  • Excellent report-writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Understanding of the cultural and heritage sectors, public engagement, and impact measurement.
  • Ability to work independently, managing time and priorities effectively in a freelance capacity.
  • Proficiency with digital tools for data collection, analysis, and remote collaboration.

Desirable:

  • Experience of evaluation in arts, heritage, or cultural consultancy contexts.
  • Knowledge of participatory and co-created evaluation practices.
  • Familiarity with funder expectations across different project stages (e.g., ACE project grants, NLHF Development & Delivery, Final Evaluation).

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver robust evaluation frameworks tailored to ACE and HLF project requirements.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to evidence impact and outcomes.
  • Work closely with client teams, community partners, and stakeholders to ensure evaluation methods are inclusive and accessible.
  • Produce clear, engaging evaluation reports and presentations for clients and funders.
  • Provide strategic advice on evaluation approaches during project planning and bid development.
  • Contribute to building evaluation capacity among clients and project partners through guidance, workshops, and training.
