Freelance community dance artist delivering weekly Keep Dancing classes for older adults in Sutton Coldfield, Aldridge and Harborne. Lead inclusive, accessible sessions that promote wellbeing, social connection and healthy ageing. 3 hrs/week, £30/hr + £30/month for learning routines.

Deliver weekly Keep Dancing classes for older adults. Adapt routines for seated/standing participants. Friendly, professional, strong communication. Learn monthly routines via YouTube. Manage carers in sessions. Experience teaching diverse dance styles essential.

Job Requirements

Reliable and committed freelance community dance artists required to deliver weekly Keep Dancing classes for older adults in Sutton Coldfield, Aldridge and Harborne. Consistency and reliability once contracted is essential to maintain trust and continuity with participants.

Applicants must be able to adapt sessions for seated and standing participants, ensuring inclusive, accessible practice for a range of mobility and confidence levels. A friendly, personable and professional manner is essential, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

Experience teaching dance is required, with confidence in delivering and adapting a range of styles for older adults.

Ability to learn and deliver set monthly routines via YouTube is essential.

An understanding of safe teaching practice, safeguarding, and health and safety in the workplace is required, ensuring sessions are delivered responsibly and risks are appropriately managed

Job Responsibilities

Deliver weekly Keep Dancing classes for older adults, ensuring sessions are inclusive, engaging and accessible for seated and standing participants.
Adapt movement and choreography to suit varying mobility, confidence and ability levels, promoting safe and enjoyable participation for all.
Learn and deliver set monthly routines via YouTube, ensuring accurate delivery while adapting appropriately for the group.
Create and maintain a welcoming, friendly and supportive environment that encourages confidence, social connection and wellbeing.
Manage the session space safely in line with safeguarding procedures and health & safety requirements.
Respond appropriately to individual needs within group sessions, ensuring inclusive participation at all times.
Support carers attending sessions where present, ensuring they feel welcomed, included and supported within the space.
Build positive relationships with participants to encourage regular attendance, engagement and a strong sense of belonging.
