Job Summary

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our Finance Manager, Operations Manager, Founder, and wider production team with the day-to-day financial running of the company.

Job Description

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some finance or bookkeeping experience and is looking to step into a role with room to grow. You'll play a key part in keeping our financial processes accurate and organised, while developing the skills and experience to take on greater responsibility as the company evolves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the upkeep of accurate and timely financial records using Xero (advanced use will be developed with support/training)
  • Assist with preparing VAT returns in coordination with our accountant
  • Help with weekly payroll preparation and track payments/deductions
  • Reconcile and monitor incoming and outgoing investments with guidance from the Operations Manager
  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including issuing invoices and processing receipts
  • Process company expenses and petty cash claims
  • Assist in generating financial reports and preparing end-of-year documentation for our accountant
  • Maintain financial confidentiality and ensure GDPR compliance
  • Provide administrative and financial support to the Finance Manager, Operations Manager, Founder, and production team, including on audits and reporting

Job Requirements

Essential

  • 2-3 years' experience in a Finance, Bookkeeping, or Accounts role
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and relevant financial regulations, with willingness to develop further
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to analyse financial data accurately and resolve issues, seeking guidance where needed
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Committed to discretion and handling sensitive information
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, HMRC submissions, and end-of-year preparation
  • Based in London and able to work onsite
