This is a new role and a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to join a passionate and committed team to uphold the maintenance and safety of our buildings and people. Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Operations, the Facilities Coordinator role is a key post overseeing all buildings maintenance and management plans, budgets, health & safety policy and contractor relationships. Supporting the conservation management plan for Pitzhanger Manor's unique historic buildings will be part of this role.

The Facilities Coordinator will work closely with Commercial & Operations, our Visitor Experience, Finance and Exhibitions team and Ealing FM (LBE contract supplier) to ensure our buildings maintenance, conservation, and health and safety objectives are met.

Building strong relationships with contractors, teams, and London Ealing Council representatives you will nurture relationships and ensure planned contracts and service deliverables are met and repairs and maintenance are carried out timely and within budget.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of buildings and maintenance, contractor management, safeguarding policy, health & safety policy and practice and developing procedures and training for the team. Experience in working with Microsoft packages essential.

Hours of work three days a week (21 hours) (may include weekend work, site attendance)
Salary £28k - £30k per annum / pro rata

Job Responsibilities

  • Excellent people experience and communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of buildings maintenance, repair needs and reporting
  • Strong experience in working with contractors and site visits
  • Sound numeracy and budget management skills
  • Experience of using computers and Microsoft
  • Highly organised with attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple work streams to deadline
  • A 'can do' spirit, flexible in approach with a positive attitude to change
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a small team and with a collaborative approach to achieving organisational goals.
  • Willing and happy to be hands on and challenge quality of service from contractors, whilst still being able to aid in back-office processes and tasks
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Fire Marshal Qualification
  • A sound understanding of health and safety and the creation of risk assessments
  • Enthusiasm for heritage and the arts
  • Understanding of BMS
