Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and creative person who can bring fresh ideas and energy to Macclesfield's town centre and surrounding wards.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to design and deliver engaging events that not only capture attention but also encourage repeat visits, ultimately increasing footfall and supporting the vitality of the local economy.

This role requires a strong team player who is equally confident stepping into a leadership position.

The successful applicant will be someone who can inspire those around them-whether colleagues, partners, or volunteers-while also taking ownership of projects and driving them forward with clarity and purpose. Building meaningful connections with residents and stakeholders in Macclesfield will be central to their success, ensuring events feel inclusive, relevant, and well-supported by the community.

We are particularly interested in candidates with solid management experience, capable of overseeing budgets, coordinating teams, and delivering events from concept through to execution. Strong organisational skills, adaptability, and a proactive mindset will be essential in balancing multiple priorities and responding to the evolving needs of the town.

With the introduction of Martyn's Law in April 2027, this role will lead on ensuring compliance across all Town Council events. We are therefore looking for a candidate who can lead on the implementation of this legislation, embedding best practice and acting as a knowledgeable advisor to colleagues to ensure events are safe, secure, and well-managed.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the cultural and life of Macclesfield residents.

We look forward to welcoming an Events Manager who is passionate about community engagement and motivated to make a lasting impact.
