Location: Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot Cornerstone Arts Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focussed Duty Manager to join our team. This active position splits time between hands-on duty management and desk work. You will lead front-of-house operations, coordinating volunteers, staff, contractors, and performers to deliver exceptional service while ensuring the security, health, and safety of the building. Education: 3 'A' Levels or equivalent (Degree is a bonus). Experience: Staff supervision, logistical planning, and strong verbal/written English communication. Previous experience in facilities management or event hires is desirable. First Aid certificate is a plus. Duty Management: Serve as the primary public contact. Oversee box office, merchandise, and caf operations, including cash handling and float storage. Train and manage volunteers and staff in customer care, venue systems, and emergency procedures. Operations & Logistics: Set up spaces for meetings and events. Monitor room bookings to prevent schedule clashes and liaise with team members. Act as the primary link for performers, supporting backstage operations, cueing, and risk management. Hires Administration: Support the conference and events business by managing enquiries, leading tours, processing contracts, maintaining databases, and ensuring accurate billing. Building Security & Safety: Perform fire and H&S checks, ensuring public areas and escape routes are clear. Secure the building at the end of shifts.
