Enterprising charity The Twisting Ducks Theatre Company has an opportunity for a Part-Time DJ Facilitator to join our team.

Job Description

The primary task is to support participants with a learning disability and autistic people to take part in weekly DJ sessions, develop their DJ skills, and perform at our monthly FRESH club night. You will plan and deliver these sessions and events, ensuring they are safe, inclusive, and empowering.

We are looking for an excellent communicator with experience in DJing, music facilitation, or a strong interest in sharing DJ skills, and in working with people with a learning disability and autistic people. The role requires someone creative and person-centred, who enjoys supporting individuals and groups to achieve their goals and express themselves through music. The rewards include helping participants build confidence and independence, and contributing to inclusive music experiences in a supportive community.

Time

Every Thursday, 3.00pm - 6.30pm to run our DJ Academy

One evening per month (first Thursday), 5.30pm - 10.30pm, at our FRESH club night

Location: The Wallsend Memorial Hall, Wallsend

FRESH club night venue: World Headquarters, Newcastle

This is a permanent, part-time role paid at £19.82 per hour, with 7 weeks' annual leave pro rata (inclusive of bank holidays).

Job Responsibilities

As DJ Facilitator, you will plan and deliver weekly DJ sessions for participants with a learning disability and autism , to support them in developing their skills and achieving personal goals, and coordinate their performances at our monthly FRESH club night.

You will prepare resources, manage group dynamics, maintain accurate records and risk assessments, and ensure all sessions and events are safe, inclusive, and engaging.
