Fabric is creating a new strategic leadership role, Director of Communications & Development, responsible for driving the organisation’s public profile, influence and case for support.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of Fabric's communications, marketing and development activity. This includes shaping the organisation's brand and voice, strengthening stakeholder relationships and securing investment to support our artistic and social ambitions. The role will oversee the development of compelling storytelling across all communications platforms, ensuring that Fabric's work is visible, accessible and aligned with our values of curiosity, disruption and joy. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will lead high-quality marketing and communications campaigns that amplify the impact of our programmes, artists and partnerships. Alongside communications leadership, the role will drive strategic fundraising and resource development, working with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Trustees to grow Fabric's income and partnerships. This includes developing a strong case for support, contributing to funding bids and proposals, and building relationships with funders, partners and civic stakeholders. The Director will also act as a senior external ambassador for Fabric, representing the organisation across networks, events and partnerships. The role includes line management of the communications team and collaboration across departments to ensure integrated, effective and impactful communications. Significant senior experience in communications, marketing and brand leadership, ideally in the arts or creative industries Proven experience of developing strategies that grow visibility, engagement and income Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building experience in a charity or cultural organisation Experience leading teams and delivering impactful communications campaigns Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills A collaborative, proactive approach and a genuine interest in arts and culture.
Lead and deliver Fabric's strategic communications, marketing and brand development Drive stakeholder engagement and advocacy across cultural, civic and funding networks Develop and deliver strategic fundraising and income generation initiatives Oversee high-quality marketing and communications campaigns and content Build and manage partnerships that support Fabric's mission and growth Line manage the communications team and contribute to organisational leadership as part of the Senior Leadership Team Monitor impact, evaluate communications activity and report to senior leadership and the Board
