During Summer Sizzle, you will collaborate with our artistic team and young people to co-design and build the set, props and costume for two brand-new, 45-minute devised plays created by participants aged 8-11 and 12-19. Summer Sizzle Dates: Applicants should: Plan, delivery and evaluate design and production session while simultaneously producing sets, overseeing costume and props creation/sourcing. Four major productions across the year. Typically production budgets are around £400-£600, we have a very healthy set, costume, props store to pull from. Job Description
Working throughout the rehearsal period, you will lead the design process alongside young people, supporting them to realise their creative ideas and helping them gain hands-on experience in theatre production. You will also oversee the safe organisation of the design space and ensure all scenic elements are performance-ready for the final productions on 22nd August. You will also oversee costume and props.
Following Summer Sizzle, you will become our Resident Designer & Crew Facilitator, leading weekly design sessions on Monday from 6-8pm, with our Production Crew during term time and supporting technical and production elements throughout our performance weeks.
We are looking for someone who is highly creative, organised and passionate about developing young people's confidence, practical skills and artistic ambitions.
10th-14th August - 9:00am-6:00pm

Planning, safeguarding training and get-out are included within the contracted fee (dates to be confirmed).
Fee:
£2,520 (inclusive of VAT and National Insurance contributions)
Equivalent to £180 per day across 14 days, including planning, safeguarding training and get-out.

Have substantial experience working with young people aged 12-19 in a theatre design and production setting.
Have substantial experience planning, delivering and evaluating creative design workshops for young people.
Be confident designing and constructing scenery, props and other production elements for live theatre.
Be able to support young people in developing practical backstage, production and making skills.
Be reliable, approachable and a positive role model for young people.
Hold a current DBS certificate, or be willing to undergo a DBS check and safeguarding training.
