We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Stage Manager to be a key part of our backstage team of The Hunger Games: On Stage.

Job Description

As Deputy Stage Manager, you will play a key role in the smooth and efficient running of a large scale and complex theatre production. You will be responsible for coordinating backstage operations, calling cues, and assisting in the day-to-day running of performances.

Job Requirements

Extensive proven experience (at least 2 years) setting up technically complex and long running shows in the role of Deputy Stage Manager Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with all departments and personnel. Ability to call cues during performances and technical rehearsals, with a strong understanding of all technical aspects of theatre (lighting, sound, set, and props). Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving, with a calm and collected demeanour under pressure. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well within a team.

Job Responsibilities

Assist the Stage Manager in coordinating and managing rehearsals. Support the preparation and upkeep of rehearsal materials, including scripts, cue sheets, and blocking notes. Assist in managing the rehearsal room and maintain communication between the director, cast, and production team. Track blocking and cue changes and ensure they are accurately recorded in the show script. Assist the Stage Manager in running technical and dress rehearsals, ensuring all technical cues are executed smoothly. Call cues (lighting, sound, set changes, etc.) during rehearsals and performances under the guidance of the Stage Manager. Supervise the backstage crew, ensuring all elements (props, costumes, scenery) are in the correct positions and functioning properly. Serve as the point of contact for all backstage crew and performers, ensuring clear communication throughout the rehearsal and performance period.
