Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Deputy Front of House Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Front of House Manager with the safe operation and delivery of our events, whilst ensuring our customers enjoy a first-class experience.

Job Description

Duty Management & Leadership
Act as the responsible person in charge while the theatre is open, leading the team and
ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
Manage the Front of House staff during shifts to ensure duties are carried out efficiently.
Oversee the opening and secure locking of the theatre premises.
Customer Experience & Operations
Greet customers and act as a theatre ambassador, ensuring public areas are friendly,
welcoming, and well-presented.
Assist the Front of House Manager with the running of the theatre bar to maximise profit,
ensuring compliance with all licensing legislation.
Assist with Box Office duties and provide comprehensive cover as required.
Assist with front of house staff rotas as required.
Safety & Financial Integrity
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all visitors, staff, and visiting artists.
Perform cash handling duties, including accurate cashing up at the end of every performance.
Collaborate with the Front of House Manager on stock control, ordering, margin management,
and staff training.
Collaborate with the Front of House Manager to generate new income streams.

Job Requirements

Essential requirements:
Proven track record in customer service and cash handling.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and professional
touring companies.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and positive, with a calm and practical approach to problemsolving.
Adaptable to changing needs and fully available to work evenings, weekends, and throughout
the busy Christmas period.
Desirable requirements:
A genuine passion for the arts and a keen interest in theatre.
Previous experience working in a theatre or high-volume hospitality environment.
Knowledge of alcohol licensing, fire safety regulations, or a valid First Aid qualification.
Knowledge of box office ticketing systems.

Job Responsibilities

This is a part time role, 20 hours per week working 3-4 shifts a week across Mon-Sun, agreed in advance with the Front of House Manager. The role will also provide comprehensive cover to the front of house manager during periods of annual leave.
