The role of Deputy Director works closely and collaboratively with the Artistic Director in the development of the organisation, its culture and practice, artist projects and programmes, sharing leadership and responsibilities. The role contributes to the curation and development of TACO!'s public programming, which includes Artist Research Project, Publishing, and Learning and Reflection activities that are at the heart of TACO!'s organisational practice and ethos of ongoing enquiry. The Deputy Director leads specifically on developing and delivering the vision for Young Artist Projects - ensuring they are integrated across all of TACO!'s offer as part of a wider cohesive artistic strategy. To realise the strategy the Deputy Director manages a small team of artist facilitators and the YAP Producer. Current long-term YAP projects include Bang Splat Whoosh - an artist residency programme working with early years children and their families in local children centres, and the Hundred Club, a regular club for art & play, providing space for children aged 5-12yrs and their families to explore social justice issues that matter to them and make work in the public realm. The role supports the Artistic Director in the day-to-day running of the organisation, sharing operational duties by taking on specific responsibilities for the strategic and operational management of TACO! As a senior member of TACO! the Deputy Director is expected to provide leadership for TACO! and its staff team, and custodianship for TACO! organisational culture, practice, and future. The Deputy Director works closely with all staff to foster and nurture TACO!'s social and artistic practices. The role is integral to representing and embodying the culture and values of TACO! in all of its work with the public, stakeholders, artists and community members. 36-40k pro rata / 0.6 days per week / 24hrs per week Knowledge and experience of curating and programming contemporary art practices Knowledge and experience of social art practice, especially high-quality work with Children and Young People Experience of partnership building with a range of stakeholders, cultural and civic society partners, and community groups Experience of events and project management Excellent relationship management skills and leadership Experience of Budget, Operational and Staff Management Please see the full Job Description on the TACO! website.
