Dance and Performing Arts Teachers

Locations: Balham and Streatham

Are you passionate about inspiring young people through the performing arts? Jigsaw Performing Arts is looking for dedicated, energetic, and talented individuals to join our team from January 2026!

We're currently recruiting for the following roles:

  • Dance Teachers

  • Performing Arts Teachers (for 3-6-year-olds)

Jigsaw Performing Arts has been delivering high-quality drama, singing, and dance classes for 30 years. Our mission is to help children and young people build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

What We're Looking For

We need enthusiastic, reliable professionals who:
Have experience teaching or working, or interest in performing arts.
Are passionate about working with children and young people.
Bring energy, creativity, and commitment to every session.
Are confident in managing classes and creating a positive learning environment.

Details

  • Start Date: January 2026, training Saturday 10th January, term begins Balham- 17th Jan, Streatham- 18th Jan

  • When: Saturday and/or Sunday mornings. Sessions are generally 3 hours of teaching

  • Where: Balham, Streatham

  • Commitment: Spring Term (Jan-March), with potential for ongoing work

Teaching wages start from £25 per hour depending on experience. 3 hours available per location.

Job Requirements

(These will vary depending on the role, from Assistant to Teacher to Manager)

  • Experience in Performing Arts - Strong skills in drama, dance, or singing (essential for teaching roles).

  • Teaching/Leadership Experience - Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or performing arts setting (preferred for teaching and management roles).

  • Creativity and Energy - Ability to engage and inspire students in a fun and supportive environment.

  • Reliability and Professionalism - Punctual, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality sessions.

  • Team Player - Willingness to work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth running of the school.

  • Safeguarding - All staff must complete an Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one) and undertake safeguarding training.

  • Availability - Saturdays and/or Sundays during term time (morning sessions).

Job Responsibilities

Teachers:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in your specialist subject.

  • Encourage confidence, creativity, and teamwork among students.

  • Prepare for and assist in end-of-term presentations and performances.
