Job Description

Reporting to: Coda Chief Executive
Working Hours: 3 days (22.5 hrs) p/w
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum pro rata
Location: Coda Music and Arts Trust, Chewton Farm Rd, Christchurch, BH23 5QL
Probation Period: 3 months

You will maintain, develop, and produce a dynamic, diverse music programme that engages participants, supports learning and well-being, and connects communities. As a key artistic leader, you will embed Coda's core values of excellence, inclusivity, and community engagement across all programming.

Job Requirements

Experience
- Developing and managing music facilities and musicians
- Devising, managing and delivering successful learning programmes
- Devising, managing and delivering successful health and well being programmes
- Responding to funding opportunities and shaping bids to potential funders

Skills
- Establishing and nurturing partnerships
- Organisation and project management
- People management
- Evaluation and reporting
- Ability to work in a flexible manner compatible with jobs and required staffing of the building

Knowledge
- Understanding of and commitment to broad range of music genres
- Understanding of the development of marketing and audience development strategies
- Well networked in music and education sector

Qualifications
- Degree and / or Post Graduate qualification in Music or similar

Personal Qualities

Job Responsibilities

- To implement and manage a cohesive and financially sustainable music programme at Coda.
- To recruit where necessary, manage and nurture team.
- To manage and deliver all aspects of Coda's existing and future music programme in partnership with musicians and colleagues.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of programmes.
- Keep informed of developments across music education and related sectors.
- Develop music programme as needed to improve quality, access, impact, and reach.
- Develop, manage and maintain strategic partnerships.
- Actively promote and support musicians and communities who have protected characteristics and/or who are from backgrounds that have been traditionally marginalised.
- Team management, marketing support and reporting
- Creating and managing budgets, and develop funding applications
- Deliver Coda values - creating beneficial social and economic impact in the local community and contributing to a circular economy to support musicians and educators.
