We're thrilled that you're considering joining Icon Theatre as our Company Stage Manager (on Book) for the remount of The Snow Queen: A Woodland Adventure. The production unites a creative team renowned for making imaginative, high-quality theatre for young audiences including Icon's award-winning artistic director Nancy Hirst (co-creator of the cult children's Saves Christmas series), designer Laura McEwen (Well Done Mummy Penguin, the Albany; The Princess and the Pea, Unicorn Theatre) and composer and musical director, Eamonn O'Dwyer (The Lion Inside, Southbank Centre). Icon is looking to work with an experienced Company Stage Manager (CSM) for this engagement and particularly, an individual that is well organised. The role would suit someone who can be empathetic, can communicate with a wide variety of people and make decisions with ease. The CSM role will manage the performing team and cast welfare on a day-to-day basis, as well as the building relationship whilst based in Stockton, requiring an individual that can confidently hold an overview. This role will suit a professional with a friendly disposition and a 'can do' attitude and positive approach. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day practicalities of the production, ensuring the cast and crew are well supported, handling admin tasks and leading on rehearsal logistics to ensure the smooth execution of the show. Job Requirements
-Substantial experience of working on live theatrical productions, including experience of presenting work in a theatre venue;
-Experience of touring / working away from home;
-Substantial experience of being on 'Book' and running rehearsals and calling a show;
-Ability to be reactive to a creative process, with ease at picking up information and allowing flexibility where required;
-Proven ability to oversee the running of a show when in rep, on a day-to-day basis.
-Fair and consistent individual who is a great listener with good communication skills;
-Can build and maintain good working relationships;
-Genuine passion for theatre;
-Knowledge of industry guidelines and working place law when it comes to creating daily schedules;
-Positive can-do attitude;
-Practical hands on, mending skills, for set and costume. Job Responsibilities
-In collaboration with the Producer, update any relevant Risk Assessments for the rehearsal room as and when required and support the implementation of Risk Assessment mitigation strategies and Health and Safety procedures;
-Mark up the rehearsal room space as required by the Director as early as possible in the process;
-Operate any sound and rehearsal music as required using the existing QLab show file;
-Run and cue the show;
-Maintaining the costumes and ensuring necessary laundry is completed regularly.
-Create all daily schedules and issue all call times to cast and creatives;
-Monitor the artistic quality of the production, in line with the Director and Designers' original intentions, giving notes where necessary;
-Prepare and circulate a rehearsal reports
