We are looking for an experienced and organised Company Stage Manager to join us for our upcoming production of 'Equus'. Directed by Lindsay Posner

Job Description

The Company Stage Manager will act as the central point of communication between the creative team, cast, crew and production staff, ensuring the director's vision is effectively executed during every performance. The successful candidate must be available for: REHEARSALS (Monday 30th March - Tuesday 5th May), TECH (Wednesday 6th May - Friday 8th May), FIRST PERFORMANCE (Friday 8th - eve), PRESS NIGHT (Monday 18th May), FINAL PERFORMANCE (Saturday 4th July). Salary will be £900pw Weekly working hours in line with the UK Theatres / Equity agreement.

Job Requirements

- Proven experience as a Stage Manager and/or Company Manager in professional theatre productions. - An understanding and hands-on approach to theatre technical needs and problem solving skills. - Strong knowledge of stage management practices, including creating prompt books, calling cues and coordinating technical elements. - Exceptional organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task under pressure - whilst managing a DSM, ASM and wardrobe master, alongside cast. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. - Familiarity with health and safety regulations in theatre productions - Attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus in fast-paced environments. - A degree of relevant qualification in theatre production or stage management (preferred but not essential)

Job Responsibilities

- Coordinate and manage all aspects of rehearsals, including scheduling, note-taking and maintaining an up-to-date prompt book. - Serve as the prime point of contact between the creative team, company and all departments, ensuring clear communication and the dissemination of production updates. - Oversee the backstage area during performances, managing crew props and set changes to ensure seamless transitions. - Ensure the health, safety and well-being of the cast and crew, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally. - Document and communicate rehearsal notes and performance reports to the production team. - Maintain consistency in performances, ensuring adherence to the director's vision and technical requirements. - Troubleshoot and resolve any unforeseen issues that arise during rehearsals or performances throughout the run, including technical issues. - Organise and oversee technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals and production meetings. - Manage production schedule
