Fruitmarket are looking for a Communications Assistant to join the team.

This post is 2 days per week and paid at £28k pro rata.

Fruitmarket is looking for a Communications Assistant to help share our programmes in engaging, thoughtful and accessible ways across digital platforms. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, communicating creatively, and contributing to the life of a contemporary arts organisation.

You may come from a cultural, creative, or related sector, or bring transferable digital communications experience from elsewhere. What matters most is your creative storytelling, enthusiasm for communication, your ability to work with others, and your interest in Fruitmarket's work and the wider arts ecosystem.

Working closely with colleagues you will support the planning and delivery of digital marketing and communications for Fruitmarket's exhibitions, events, and public programmes. You'll help ensure our work reaches a wide and diverse audience and is communicated clearly, creatively, and respectfully.

Job Requirements

Proven ability to write engaging, high-quality copy for online and offline audiences
At least two years' experience working in a marketing role, ideally within a cultural or arts organisation
Understanding of marketing and communications best practice, including GDPR
Experience supporting successful project planning and delivery
Experience working with graphic design and photo editing tools, particularly Adobe Creative Suite
Experience using content management systems, social media management tools, and email marketing platforms
Confidence with IT and an ability to learn new systems quickly
A good understanding of the digital landscape
Ability to collate, interpret, and present analytics and data clearly and accurately
Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and use initiative
Motivated, responsive, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to team working
Enthusiastic about Fruitmarket's work, with a genuine interest in the arts

Job Responsibilities

Liaise with staff across all departments to ensure accurate, timely and effective public communications.
Plan, create and publish content across Fruitmarket's social media channels to increase engagement and followers, this includes the gallery, Fruitmarket cafe and bookshop accounts.
Write and adapt copy for social media, website and email communications.
Update and maintain the website as directed ensuring it functions well.
Manage the email database on Ecosend and create engaging email campaigns.
Update the Bloomberg Connects CMS.
Create and work with our ticketing system (Ticket Tailor); monitor sales and communicate with attendees and organisers where necessary.
Monitor and evaluate strong digital work from outside the sector, identifying relevant examples and making recommendations.
Take and edit photographs for digital and print use.
Film and edit video content for social media.
Support the design team with editing, design tasks and reel creation.
