To carry out a range of planning, research and analytical activities focussed on East End heritage tourism, and the ways in which the capital redevelopment project can raise the profile of THLHLA in order to benefit from this audience. To carry out market research on current and projected heritage tourism activity in the borough, including income generation and footfall at comparable visitor attractions here and elsewhere in London. To develop a plan for THLHLA to tap into these audiences during and post capital redevelopment. To research and put forward a written business case for the national significance of (a) the THLHLA collections and (b) the functions of the building post-redevelopment, testing it with funders including the National Lottery Heritage Fund. To develop proposals for rebranding and repositioning THLHLA as a new cultural landmark - a centre for the history of the East End, with regional, national and global appeal. To explore the potential for formally transforming the service into a professional museum and gallery. To make recommendations for the marketing budget, approach and capital deliverables required to effect the proposed rebrand. To develop a brief for detailed business planning and income generation (to be submitted as part of a NLHF Stage 1 bid next year), which will build nuance and confidence in the proposal. This is a freelance opportunity for a professional audience development consultant with demonstrable experience of building a case for nationally significant heritage and cultural capital projects. To carry out detailed research to build the case for THLHLA's £17m capital funding target. You will explore the wide range of tourism audiences, the case for national significance, business development and develop proposals for rebranding and repositioning THLHLA as a landmark visitor attraction. Email Heritage Manager Tamsin Bookey [email protected] to receive the full brief. Please do not send any further information until you have received the brief. You will be asked to submit a detailed proposal setting out your proposed approach, day rate and number of days for a maximum budget (the maximum available budget is specified in the brief). We anticipate the position to require up to 25 days work during the term of the contract (asap - November). The closing date is 9am on Monday 17 August.Job Summary
