Peckham Soul is a design label and record shop which began in 2009. The label explores the cultural history of South East London, with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Our Record store specializes in new and collectable vinyl. In this position you will assist our current shop manager in the successful running of the shop. This should include a wide range of genres from the 1950's to the present day. A candidate who collects and buys vinyl would be a definite advantage. Effective customer skills. You will be dealing with and serving customers in a retail environment where the necessity to make sales is a priority. Personal warmth and an ability to make customers fell at ease is a necessity, with previous retail experience an advantage. Standard computer literacy. We will be using Excel spreadsheets and our on-line store to deal with inventory tasks. Therefore, standard competency in Excel and Word and a confidence and experience in updating websites and social media platforms will be required. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as using your own intiative. Assiting our current shop manager, you will be undertaking tasks which will necessitate effective communication and the organisation of these tasks Customers service and sales We are in the process of reconfiguring our website and inventory, so you will play an important role in the completion of this task.
