Arty Amber is a multi-award winning art education initiative in the North West Herts area for children 4+. We work with schools and venues to provide after school art clubs, holiday art clubs, private tuition, GCSE/A level tuition and adult courses. We have a PART TIME Art Teaching Assistant position available in a Watford WD3 primary school for a freelance, highly creative, engaging and experienced artist who is able to use multiple mediums whilst creating a wonderfully friendly and interactive environment for 4-11 year olds. The role includes set up and pack down with some medium-heavy lifting compulsory, to interact with the children, assist with art works and to assist the teacher. The fee is £17 per hour paid monthly upon an invoice and the role starts immediately. AVAILABILITY: - Thursdays, 2.45-4.45pm (2 hours), during term time only in Watford WD3, immediate start. - Additional temporary hours may become available on an ad hoc basis PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS The applicant should have: - Diploma in Fine Art (or equivalent) or art practice/experience. - An Enhanced DBS (not just a DBS), or be willing to get one. - Ability to move medium-heavy equipment - tables, chairs, bags of art gear. - At least 6 months experience working with children under 12 years in any capacity. - At least 6 months teaching or assistant teaching experience. - PLI (Public Liability Insurance), which can be obtained through Arts Network. - Safeguarding certificate (or be willing to get one) To apply please send your CV and cover letter to Amber detailing how you meet the requirements listed above along with your relevant experiences.
