We’re looking for Art Assistants to join our Art Mavericks freelance team.

Do you love inspiring children through creativity?

We're looking for enthusiastic freelance art assistants to join our Art Mavericks team of art assistants, supporting the delivery of workshops and programmes for children at the Landmark Arts Centre.

We're looking for artists, makers and creative educators who have worked with children, are passionate about the arts, and can create welcoming, engaging and inclusive creative experiences for young people.

We particularly welcome and encourage applications from facilitators with experience supporting children with SEND.

Whether your background is in visual arts, crafts or another creative discipline, we'd love to hear about how you bring creativity to life for children.

Freelance rate: £12.71-£14.00 per hour, dependent on experience and the responsibilities of the role.

Working pattern: Approximately 9.00/9.30am-4.30pm (8 hours a day), depending on experience and whether you are leading a session. Our upcoming Autumn Art Mavericks programme runs for three days, from Tuesday 27-Thursday 29 October. Our programmes run through school holidays.

Deadline: 14 September at 9am.

Job Requirements

What you might be doing:

Leading or supporting arts and creative activities

Helping with cooking and baking sessions

Preparing and serving lunches and snacks

Supporting classroom activities

Leading movement, exercise or wellbeing sessions

Setting up and packing down activities and equipment

Helping children participate confidently and safely

Working alongside our tutors, facilitators and Creative Learning team

Job Responsibilities

What we're looking for:

Experience working with children aged 5-11

Skills or experience across creativity, food, physical activity or wellbeing

A warm, adaptable and inclusive approach

Confidence working as part of a busy team

A good understanding of safeguarding

A current Enhanced DBS check

Experience supporting children with SEND is particularly welcomed
