About the project and the role I'm looking for a website designer to design an accessible website to host an audio art work, I think it was a feeling. It could also be a page on my existing website, which is hosted on Cargo. I think it was a feeling is about invisible disability and being stuck at home alone, sick, and the imaginative processes you use as coping mechanisms as part of this. It's also about incontinence, specifically piss. It asks the listener to reconsider their relationship to bodily fluids, separate from the societal shame, and to think about pissing yourself as a sensory act. It's instruction based: one audience member at a time, at home alone, follows simple choreographic instructions to make them aware of their bodies, interwoven with fantasies set to a pulsing electronic soundtrack. The brief To design an accessible website, or a page on my existing website, to host an audio artwork. The website is the beginning of the audience journey, and so the experience of navigating the website should introduce the audience to the world of the work. Practically, the journey is the following: Audiences will be emailed the link to the website once they have purchased a ticket. It will be password protected. The website will contain visual and written instructions for getting ready for the piece. This content will be provided. This is followed by a way to play the audio, starting and stopping as necessary. There should be a final visual page the audience is left with, once the audio ends. Audiences are recommended to access the website on their phones so the website should be designed with this in mind. The artwork is an instruction-based headphone piece that you do at home. It's a sensory experience and the website should reflect that: it should use haptics, and responsive visuals. You should have experience making accessible websites and experience using haptics. To work with artist Elana Binysh to design & implement a full functional design for I think it was a feeling's host page. Deadline: 5th December We can figure out the timeline of this period together, in a way that works for both of us. Fee: £2000 (8 days of work @ £250 p/d) Location: The work will happen remotely. 1. Please say why you’d be interested in this role and what your experience with making accessible websites and using haptics is 2. Please send an example of something you’ve made before Please do not spend more than 15 mins on this, you don't need to edit, a brain splurge is fine. You don’t need to use fancy language. If you would like to apply by written response please fill in this Google form: If you would like to apply by audio or video response please fill in this Google form. There’s a section to attach your access rider/send any access needs.Job Summary
