Don’t Settle is a three year project that empowers 16 - 25 year old people of colour in Birmingham and the Black Country to change the voice of heritage through the arts, research, and governance. The project will work in collaboration with Birmingham Museums Trust, Chance Heritage Trust, Birmingham Roundhouse and Birmingham City University. Don’t Settle is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
We are looking to work with a flexible, sharp and knowledgeable youth engagement agency/organisation to deliver the Don’t Settle governance strand for and with our partner, Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT). The organisation will be key in consulting and co-designing with young people of colour from Birmingham and the Black Country a governance Youth Engagement Structure at BMT.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in engaging with young people, specifically young people of colour
Have experience in co-designing and consulting with young people
Have experience in delivering projects/services in youth governance
Have experience in delivering workshops with young people of colour
Be creative in their approach of delivery of projects/services
Want to work with the client to continuously improve the delivery
Share our vision and values.
Be willing to work in Birmingham and the Black Country
Budget: £27,000 excl. VAT
