Senior Manager, Development, Contemporary Art Society

Description

The Contemporary Art Society (CAS) is an independent charity that champions the collecting of outstanding contemporary art and craft for UK museum collections. Since its founding in 1910 the organisation has donated over 12,000 works to museums across the UK. Each year, the charity donates works of modern and contemporary art to 70 museums and public galleries in the UK.  These have included the first works by Paul Gauguin, Dame Barbara Hepworth, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Francis Bacon, Sir Anthony Caro, Sir Antony Gormley and Damien Hirst to enter UK public collections. More recent acquisitions have included works by 2019 Turner Prize winners Helen Cammock and Oscar Murillo. Our Great Works fund has supported acquisitions by Glenn Brown, Cerith Wyn Evans and Steve McQueen, while the Collections Fund has enabled works by John Akomfrah, Kader Attia, Dineo Seshee Bopape, Zanele Muholi, Kahinde Wiley, and Zadie Xa to enter UK museum collections.
