LU Arts is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and dedicated Piano Tutor to deliver one-to-one extra-curricular tuition to Loughborough University staff and students during University term-times. The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher of piano and will be able to teach pupils of all abilities in a variety of styles. They must have a regular time or times (day or early evening) when they would be available to deliver lessons throughout the academic year. Tuition ordinarily takes place in one of the University’s music practice spaces, located on campus, but for the beginning of the 2020/21 academic year we are envisaging that it will be delivered remotely.
We would particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, as they are currently under-represented among our music tuition staff.
The job is hourly paid at Grade 7 Spinal Point 33 (currently £30.17 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay). Administrative tasks are handled to the greatest possible extent by LU Arts. The number of hours per week will depend on student sign-up, but is anticipated to be between 5 and 10.
To apply, please send a cover letter introducing your suitability for the post and a CV as a single .pdf file in an email entitled 'Piano Tutor Application' to David Bell (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 10am on Tuesday 22nd September. Please do not include any information pertinent to your application in the text of the email.
LU Arts is Loughborough University’s arts centre. We provide a range of artistic activities for staff, students and the local population. Our music tuition is one popular aspect of this.
