MUSIC CAPTAIN / CHORUS / APOTHECARY / SERVANT / AS CAST – male or female, any age, any ethnicity
The ever-present anchor for the audience – both outside the story and multi-roling within it. Strong musical skills required – particularly singing. Good sense of rhythm and at least one portable instrument playing will be needed.
An immersive, open air reimagining of Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy, Romeo & Juliet in Eastville Park Swimming Pool will be a visceral, fast-paced and cinematic adaptation running at 1hr 40mins (approx.). It will feature live acapella singing, thrilling stage fights, movement sequences and overlapping scenes to keep this rollercoaster story hurtling towards its dramatic end.
Please note: casting, rehearsals and performances are all Bristol-based.
Strong singing skills, stage combat experience and musical ability as well as confidence with Shakespeare’s text and physical theatre are important. The show will involve audience interaction and promenade elements. Actors of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to submit.
