Marketing & Visitor Services Manager, Scampston Hall & Walled Garden


The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to shape both the marketing function and visitor services operations at Scampston, and work in the stunning surroundings of Scampston Hall & Gardens, recently recognised as ‘Small Visitor Attraction of the Year’ in the White Rose Awards 2017.

Reporting to the owner, you will be full of bright and brilliant ideas, and you’ll be expected to deliver exciting marketing and communications to help develop our businesses into the future.

Day to day, you’ll manage and develop our annual marketing plan to help achieve our ambitious visitor and sales targets, helping us to reach out to new audiences and markets. You will also manage a marketing budget and, with the support of the owner, decide where resource is best spent.

You will also be responsible for website and newsletter content, and the creation of all content for Scampston’s social media channels.

You will also be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of visitor services to the Walled Garden. This aspect of the role will include management of a dedicated team of seasonal staff, including staff rotas and training, managing group bookings and event organisation.


We are looking for

A dynamic, energetic and creative marketing person to be responsible for the marketing and visitor services function across all our businesses. The role will include ensuring that Scampston delivers a consistent brand message and personality across all its enterprises.

This is a full-time role and we will be seeking someone with the right aptitude, energy, personality and creativity, with a blend of at least a few years’ experience in marketing. The right candidate will have a good knowledge of social media, experience of writing effective press releases, and be skilled at creating content for both print and web.

Marketing experience, including digital formats, excellent writing and communication skills and strong IT skills are essential. Experience of working with the public and volunteers is desirable, as well as experience of managing a small team.
